Dr. Fahmy
Dr. Gerges Fahmy’s love for animals began in childhood, growing up on a large farmhouse surrounded by dogs, cats, and various farm animals. This early connection to animals inspired his lifelong passion for veterinary medicine.
He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Cairo University in Egypt in 2003. Following graduation, Dr. Fahmy established a mixed animal practice, proudly serving his local community for 14 years.
In 2018, he relocated to Canada and became a member of both the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). After working as an associate and locum veterinarian, Dr. Fahmy launched his own mobile clinic — Dr. Fahmy Veterinary Mobile Clinic — in Bracebridge in May 2024, bringing veterinary care directly to clients across the region.
Now based in Barrie, Dr. Fahmy is excited to open Happy Tails Veterinary Hospital to offer accessible, high-quality care to his new community. In addition to the hospital, he continues to operate a mobile clinic serving Barrie, Orillia, Springwater, Innisfil, and surrounding areas — driven by his deep commitment to helping animals and supporting their owners.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Fahmy enjoys learning new skills and spending quality time with his family.
Lisa King
Lisa King has always had a deep love for animals and a strong desire to understand and care for their physical and emotional needs — whether horse, cat, dog, or small companion animal. Her passion for animal welfare naturally led her from being a devoted pet owner to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
Throughout her life, Lisa has rescued nearly every animal she’s had the joy of sharing her home with. Each one has left a lasting impression and inspired her commitment to being a voice for animals and a trusted resource for their families.
Her journey into veterinary care began with hands-on experience in clinical settings, which ultimately fueled her decision to become a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Now, with over a decade of experience in the field, Lisa is proud to be part of the Happy Tails Veterinary Hospital team, contributing to a shared vision of compassionate, high-quality care.
Lisa believes that pets are true members of the family and finds fulfillment in both patient care and building strong, supportive relationships with clients. She is passionate about working together with pet owners to ensure the best possible outcomes for their beloved companions.
